Chris has been associated with Virtual Build Team since 1998 when he began to work on the Weatherhead School of Management on behalf of DeSimone Structural
Consultants in San Francisco, CA. After meeting Rick Smith in Santa Monica, he enthusiastically accepted an offer to work with Virtual Build Team , supporting one of the
most dynamic places in architecture, Frank O. Gehry and Associates. After a brief 15 months stint beginning in 2005 working for Gehry Technologies as a consulting
services specialist, Chris has rejoined Rick in offering the services of Virtual Build Team to the AEC industry in general.
Chris brings over 23 years experience working in the AEC industry, starting as a Civil Engineering technician for the US Air Force in 1983. He has worked as a surveyor,
construction inspector, drafter, designer, and a technical designer at Boeing, where he first learned to use CATIA on the 757-300 commercial airplane structure and
various 7 series Flight Decks. He has worked in many engineering offices, including civil, structural and mechanical offices in Seattle and San Francisco, as well as
numerous architectural offices along the West Coast. He attended the University of Washington as well as community colleges in Washington and Colorado. Areas of
study include Mathematics, Engineering and Anthropology.
While working with Rick and Virtual Build Team at Frank Gehry's studios, Chris was heavily involved in the virtual build modeling of the Walt Disney Concert hall and the
Stata Center at MIT. He was also involved in virtual build modeling for Millenium Park in Chicago and EMP in Seattle. Chris also successfully assisted Permasteelisa in
the fabrication modeling of the metal curtain walls of WDCH.
Chris provides direction to Virtual Build Team's production modeling and technical implementation as well as client interaction and service solutions. With his wide range
of industry experience, Chris is comfortable in any AEC venue and can provide solid direction for any project for which a client is likely to need assistance.
